"Four Stars! **** One of the best kept secrets in New York ... Lana Rein, one of the finest pianists in New York City!"
Darrell Henline /Cabaret Scenes Magazine

"'Lana Rein, the charming classical pianist who rules The (FireBird) Parlor, which is, itself, the most sophisticated piano bar in the City!"
Barbara & Scott Siegel / Back Stage

"Lana Rein is bewitching! The Parlor, a near perfect place for dessert and an after dinner drink ... listen to Lana Rein's pianistics ... someone who can concertize with Beethoven and Liszt ... amazing lady who can glide easily from Chopin to Harry Warren and make both composers sound sensational ... her treatments of Chopin and Kern are treats. She's merely marvelous!"
Gary Stevens WVOX/ Cabaret Scenes/ Syndicated Columnist

"Terrific pianist!"
June LaBelle WQXR

"The most romantic music!"
Steve Ross

Lana Rein - Queen of the piano, enchanting and elegant, fantastic pianist, star of the "FireBird".
Joe Franklin on WOR Radio

Lana Rein, who plays profound piano in the Parlor above the FireBird restaurant/cafe, has added luster. She wrote the words and music to two new songs, My Wounded City and So In Love With You, New York. Both written right after the W.T.C. disaster.

Crooners

The new musical revue "Croon,"' running Thursdays through Sundays until  Nov. 2 at the FireBird Cafe, through features legit baritone Gregory Moore accompanied by resident pianist Lana Rein. The show resurrects a wealth of worthy but neglected songs from the `20s to the late 40s. Singing such songs that, if not for cabaret, might disappear, makes this a serious show for lovers of the big band era. The numbers range from a get-up-and-go number like 1924"s "Everybody Loves My Baby," made famous by the Boswell Sisters, to Mel Torrn6"s "40s hit 41 Cover the Waterfront" (Green-Heyman). Most of the in this well-researched show are ballads and there songs In is a lot to say about the musical milestones of crooners like Russ Columbo, Rudy Vallee, Perry Como, and a whole lot about Bing Crosby--the first crooner to popularize scat singing.

Singing in a mellow voice, Moore is a throwback to a special time in musical history and captures the musical vocabulary of the era. He exudes confidence and perfect phrasing. Rein, who has two showstopping solos in the show,, remains a brilliant pianist who commits to excellence with every note.
